AD | If you’re into supporting the local food scene here in Milton Keynes, this one is for you. Market Kitchen is a Deli and cafe that has recently opened in Woburn Sands, Milton Keynes (Inside Frosts Garden Centre)
The chefs have created a menu that is bursting with flavour. And not forgetting those of you who enjoy taking snaps of your food, every meal from their menu is super aesthetic. With cheese boards all year round and seasonal specials added weekly, there is sure to be something to indulge your tastebuds!
Market Kitchen radiates a warm and inviting feel. With a combination of dim lighting that emits from the chandeliers and natural light that floods in from the large windows, either way you have an option to fit your mood. The decor is absolutely beautiful, boasting natural wood, modern tiles and velvet galore.
Market Kitchen’s menu is sourced from local producers and is available to buy on site. As you leave you can browse through the deli and take home your favourite ingredients from your meal. This brand new concept gives you the opportunity to ‘buy what you eat and eat what you buy’.
Now it’s time for the food!
We were served bread on a little wooden board to whet our appetites. Then started on our cheese board, which included Camembert, smoked Cheddar and a blue cheese. Alongside crackers, chutney, grapes and strawberries.
For our main meal, I opted for the Sweet Potato, Spinach and Chickpea curry from the house specials. My friend had the Sous Vide Lamb Rump with thyme infused mash and minted pea puree. Both mains were sublime.
On to desserts. I went for the Jaffa cake Bakewell, which had a rich chocolate orange taste. My friend chose the dark chocolate, Cherry and Brandy Crème brûlée which was sweet and provided the satisfying Crème brûlée crack.
A quick mention to the service, in particular our waiter Ben, who was an exceptional host. Very accommodating, warm and friendly. We are lucky to have Market Kitchen on our doorstep in Milton Keynes – I am already looking forward to my next visit!
Until next time.
