SS18 capsule wardrobe | intu Milton keynes.

Spring has sprung!

Say hello to Daffodils, copious amounts of chocolate and a fresh new wardrobe!

To celebrate the launch of SS18 intu Milton Keynes invited the local bloggers and I to an event that was hosted at the newly refurbished, totally instagrammable – Loaf and Bloom. (Read my review here)

We chatted with the lovely Debenhams personal shopper team who showed us some of their key items for the new season. They also educated us on their free personal shopper service which until then, I had no idea existed. If you’re local make sure to get yourself down to Debenhams to take advantage of this hidden gem!

We then headed to Dior backstage where we met Lucy who talked us through their newest releases, which like everything Dior creates, looked super dreamy.

Finally we ended our evening at Lush where we watched demonstrations and viewed their gorgeous new Easter range, which you can check out here.

In true intu fashion we were each set a challenge to find three staple items that would be a great edition to any capsule wardrobe.

Slogan t-shirts

Graphic and Slogan tees are having a real moment this season and rightly so. They are effortlessly cool and super easy to style, making them the perfect staple for any capsule wardrobe.

I like to pair mine with a light-weight brazer and heels for a night out, or for daywear casual, under an oversized denim jacket or dungarees; either way you’ve got yourself a comfortable and stylish go-to SS outfit.

Straight leg jeans

Most women will agree that a pair of black skinny jeans are hard to beat. They have become a must have staple and an item I find myself reaching for pretty much any occasion, be it for work, brunch with the girls or date night. More recently however, I have started to become a bit more adventurous with my denim and slowly began replacing my sacred skinny jean with a straight leg, or mom jean.

It’s safe to say i’m a convert. Straight leg jeans are surprisingly flattering and hug your body in all the right places, but unlike skinny jeans they also allow for that extra helping of pasta… Win win.

I think everyone (yes, everyone) needs a pair of Topshop MOM jeans or Jack Wills Tapered Girlfriend jeans in a dreamy light wash blue.

The Wicker handbag

There are multiple different ways to say it, Wicker, Straw, Rattan; either way unless you’ve been having a complete social media detox or have had zero access to the internet over the last few months i’m sure you’ll know exactly what handbags i’m referring to.

This trend that has completely taken over the internet with a lot of the big designers tapping into the trend. Serpui have focused their entire SS18 range on these kind of wicker bags, however if you don’t have a casual £300 to splurge (Yep, me neither…) the high street retailers have got you covered.

Topshop, Zara, H&M and Newlook to name just a few have a variety of great alternatives. A personal favourite of mine is the Crab mini round straw bag from Topshop. It’s a cute, playful, take on the wicker bag trend.

My star buy and favourite find from this challenge are the Odessa sandals from Office.

I’m not normally a big fan of leopard print, but I’m totally dreaming of these paired with a white broderie anglaise dress, beachy waves and a tan. (Possible cocktail in hand) and it’s giving me all the Summer vibes!

A final big thank you to intu Milton Keynes, Lush, Topshop and Debenhams beauty teams (including Dior & Clinique) for our goodies!
