“Out Of Office Coffee’s mission is to bring world class coffee, tea, baked goods and chocolate to Stony Stratford,”
Ben Jarvis – Co founder & Director.
Last Sunday I was invited along to a tasting session at the brand new coffee house ‘Out of office Coffee’ in Stony Stratford, Milton Keynes.
Considering we went along before the store was officially open to the public, it looked great! I am a big fan of their interior. It’s the perfect mix of modern industrial with elements of hygge thrown in.
Picture fresh house plants in vibrant pots, quirky armchairs and metal bar stalls, low hung lighting and wooden tables. Perfect for a flatlay opp. (reason enough for us bloggers to grab a coffee!)
As you walk further into the café you’ll notice an old well that has been made into a feature in the middle of the floor. When the building was renovated the builders (my partner, in fact!) discovered an old well, which the owners unsurprisingly wanted to restore and make into a feature. It’s a wonderful attribute and a great thing to ponder whilst having a cup of tea or coffee.
The team of baristas are lovely. They were warm and welcoming, and certainly know a thing or two about coffee!
I picked up on their passion and enthusiasm almost instantly, which is something that I feel is sometimes lacking in larger coffee chains.
I ordered a cappuccino and Feg had a Latte. Both were served in double walled glass which, considering I am usually a sucker for a cosy mug, I have to say I really enjoyed.
First impressions; it was unlike anything i’ve ever tasted. When it comes to coffee, i’m usually a Starbucks type of girl, however after speaking Ben (Director of Out of office coffee) i was eager to try their Workshop coffee.
The coffee tasted amazing. The cappuccino was rich and creamy and served at the perfect temperature to drink and enjoy.
If coffee’s not your thing, they also have an amazing selection of tea from Brew Tea Co.
If you’re anything like me, you’ll no doubt be on the look out for something sweet to nibble on whilst you sip your hot drink. Out of Office have you covered with delicious treats from Gail’s Artisan bakery, I tried the Victoria sponge cake, the fruit and nut flapjack and the coffee cake, all of which were delicious. All the cakes had a real homemade feel to them. You can without a doubt taste that they are both made and served fresh.
If you’re a chocoholic and happen to be feeling a bit luxurious i’d recommend trying the Menakao chocolate. It’s a Madagascan chocolate which compliments the coffee perfectly.
Out of office coffee is the perfect place grab a hot drink, wither you’re a blogger wanting to write (wifi and USB ports are available!) someone who wants to read the newspaper – cup of tea in hand, or simply looking for a quick fix on the go. This place has you covered.
If you’re local be sure to pop in and try it for yourself! It’s open from Friday 7th July.
