On Sundays we brunch – Loaf & Bloom.

Last weekend I was invited to try the new deli kitchen in the heart of Debenhams, Milton Keynes.

Loaf & Bloom opened in September and judging by the feel of the place, it is already well and truly settled in. The restaurant offers a tranquil space for shoppers to have a break for their spree and grab a bite to eat.

The menu is brunch focused, with poached eggs and avocado on toasted sourdough proving a popular choice. It also boasts Mediterranean platters, cheese boards and afternoon tea. (My kind of place!)

I opted for the classic British breakfast (I was feeling a little fragile from the night before) so this dish definitely appeared me to me. I also ordered a cappuccino and a smoothie.

The breakfast was pleasant, it was cooked well, served hot and was flavourful. I do think the food is slightly overpriced in comparison to competitors in the area, but if you take into account the quality, connivence and atmosphere, a few pounds extra certainly wont break the bank!

The smoothie was easily my favourite part of my brunch experience at Loaf & Bloom. They are made from scratch using fresh fruit and blended with a choice of coconut water or apple juice. I had Pineapple, mango, kiwi and strawberry in mine, and it was bloody glorious. I would honestly go back to L&B purely based on the smoothie alone.

We also tried a selection of their cakes, including the Victoria sponge, their signature beetroot chocolate fudge cake and the Aubergine sponge. They have a few funky flavours you wouldn’t necessary associate with cake, however I was pleasantly surprised by how tasty they were, especially paired with a hot cup of coffee.

Food aside, I absolutely fell in love with the interior design! It is light and airy, with great views over-looking the city centre. The entire place gives me serious Hygge vibes, with Scandinavian influence left, right and centre.

The climbing plants, low hung lighting and warm colour scheme is to die for! It makes for the perfect cosy brunch spot to eat and relax with friends and family.

Wither your local, or you’re visiting Milton Keynes for a spot of Christmas shopping, I highly recommend paying Loaf & Bloom a visit!

In the meantime check out their website >>Here<<

This place looks really nice, much more inviting than their old cafe! I’ll definitely have to mention it to my mum and sister, next time we visit centre mk!
