Staying motivated AFTER work

 

I very recently got a new job within a publishing company which I was/still am super stoked about. This means that I am surrounded by my colleagues 99% of my working day, so ultimately I find that is my main source of motivation. I am definitely the kind of employee who feeds of the energy and drive of my team and from the general atmosphere of the office/Studio.

I am also the kind of person (Like most) who lacks motivation at the end of the working day. When I get home, usually all I can think about is dinner, bubble bath, bed. This is the sad reality of working life, as we invest so much of our time and energy into working the 9-5 day that when we eventually get home we seldomly have any spur to do anything for ourselves.

If you find yourself nodding along to what I’m saying, here are my top 3 tips for staying motivated after you finish work:
1. PLAN.

Seems pretty obvious huh? but this is pretty important stuff. Planning in advance makes it a lot harder to bail when your feeling tired.

2. HAVE GOALS.

Just like you set yourself goals at work, set them on a personal level too! Never stop working on yourself. I like to set myself blogging goals, to push and motivate me to create more new content and keep my blog updated.


3. PRAISE YOURSELF/DONT BEAT YOURSELF UP

Sometimes we all need to remember how awesome we are, and seeing our previous successes can really help us to up our game and inspire us to work towards new ones.

If your a part time blogger like me, dont be too hard on yourself if you dont manage to edit and upload a blog post in line with your schedule, working full time and coming home in the evenings to blog can be tiring, no matter how much you love it.
